A Tsinghua Xueba with a score of 745 in the test, 10 pieces of advice for Chinese parents, the earlier the child knows, the better

After the college entrance examination on June 8th, I asked him, "How many Tsinghua and Peking universities can you have in your class this year?"

Education method

My friend Lao Chen, who has been the head teacher for nearly 20 years, has been sent for more than ten times in the third year of high school.
After the college entrance examination on June 8th, I asked him, "How many Tsinghua and Peking universities can you have in your class this year?"
Lao Chen shook his two fingers and said with a smile, "At least two!"
I joked: "So confident? Do you know who can be admitted to Tsinghua University and Peking University just by looking at them?"
Old Chen smiled and said:
"Actually, these children who can get into good universities are indeed a little smart, but if they are just relying on this smartness, they will not be able to reach the current level.
They generally have their own set of living habits and learning methods, and even their views on learning are completely different from ordinary students! You can't accept it. "
The following is a sharing made by a boy in the old Chen class who was admitted to Tsinghua University to his juniors. I felt that I benefited a lot from reading it myself.
If you have children in elementary school, you should take a look, because many important habits and attitudes must be cultivated from elementary school.
01. Handwriting
A bad word is likely to make the child miss the key high school, let alone a good university.
Now more and more exams are popularizing "electronic marking", such as the college entrance examination, the middle school entrance examination, and even the junior high school entrance examination in some places. But don't think that the requirements for writing in "electronic marking" have been reduced, on the contrary, the requirements have become stricter.
If the child's handwriting is not standardized and the pen strength is not well practiced since childhood, his answer sheet will be almost a blur when he scans it into the computer through the scanner.
The grading teacher can't even see clearly, so why give you points?
So, practice calligraphy from a young age. Beautiful and standardized writing with one hand can not only make the paper neat and tidy, but also speed up the writing speed to a certain extent, so that you can gain an advantage in the exams with a large amount of writing such as the high school entrance examination and the college entrance examination. Not to answer.
02. Delay
99% of children with poor grades are procrastinators! Things that can be put off until tomorrow will never be done today; things that can be played first during the holidays will never be done first.
The downside of procrastination is that once you develop this habit, you will not only procrastinate in your studies but also in your life.
So, how do children's procrastination usually get infected?
Austrian psychologist, Alfred Adler, in the book "Children's Personality Education":
"Behind a child who procrastinates, there is always a mother who takes care of everything."
In fact, there are many small things that are children's duties, and can be done independently by themselves, such as eating, dressing, and wiping their buttocks. When parents are overworked, children are less active.
Therefore, the first step to change the child's procrastination problem is to be "ruthless" with the child appropriately, and learn to do your own things by yourself.
03. Time
The more time you spend studying, the better your grades will be?
Not necessarily!
Although some children seem to be working very hard, they don’t go out to play between classes, and they stay at home to do their homework on weekends, but most of the time they don’t concentrate, they just aimlessly and impatiently “grinding foreign workers”.
About 30% to 40% of the middle school students in a class are basically in this state.
Some children never stay up late and play crazy when they should, but when they are studying, they can make a plan in advance, know what tasks are in total, and arrange what to do first and what to do later.
About 10% of the top students in a class are in this state.
So, what determines grades is not how much time a child spends studying, but whether that time is "effective" and able to focus.
04. English and Chinese
English and Chinese are two subjects that are very similar, and aspiring children can find that doing "classical Chinese" in Chinese and "reading comprehension" in English are the same feeling:
All need to look up new words, all need to analyze grammar, all need to judge sentence patterns...
The dumbest yet most effective method for such language subjects is to read aloud!
Because the text has a complete storyline and context, it can help you memorize new words quickly.
In addition, after you have read and recited the text, some basic sentence patterns will be imprinted in your mind. When you do a similar question next time, you can guess it by feeling.
05. Mathematics
How to learn mathematics?
Accurate calculation ability is the foundation, and children must be trained well in elementary school.
In junior high school and high school, the steps of the question become more and more interconnected. If the result is wrong in the first few steps, it will be wrong in the future anyway.
Mistakes must be sorted out.
The knowledge points and question types in mathematics are relatively limited, and they are bound to appear repeatedly. As long as you can guarantee that the question type you have done this time will not make mistakes next time, there will be no problem.
06. Careless
There are often classmates around me who say after taking the exam: "I actually forgot this knowledge point, I was careless and careless..."
Is he really careless?
No, he just didn't grasp this knowledge point well, and the foundation was not solid. The so-called "careless" and "sloppy" are more like excuses for self-comfort.
Careful, calm and down-to-earth are the necessary psychological qualities of a good student.
In the college entrance examination, a small multiple-choice math question is worth 5 points. If you are careless twice, 10 points will be gone, and your ranking in the province may be thousands of points behind!
At this time, what is the use of comforting yourself with "carelessness"?
07. Starting line
"Let children win at the starting line" is a questionable sentence, in fact, it is a lie devised by a shrewd businessman.
A child's life is not a sprint, but a long marathon.
There is no such thing as rushing in the marathon, because it is useless at all. Excessive physical exertion in the first half will affect the later performance.
When I was in elementary school, the first place in my class couldn't keep up with the rhythm when I got to the junior high school, and my classmates who had mediocre grades caught up. Later, in high school, the first place in the junior high school couldn't keep up with the rhythm, and the other students caught up. Slowly catching up again...
You see, no one can do it once and for all. If you want to get ahead, you have to keep working hard. On the other hand, as long as you want to work hard, it is never too late. Maybe you will "overtake" in any test.
08. Reading
"Having the spirit of poetry and writing in the belly", reading more is the fundamental method to improve language ability and personality cultivation.
Many students are worried about composition, some say they can't review questions, some say they can't describe the method, and some say that the composition of exam-oriented education is boring...
But in fact, there is only one reason why the composition cannot be written: too little reading!
For example, it is also described that a person's standing posture is not elegant. Most of the students will simply add the number of words: "Her standing posture is very inelegant" "Her standing posture is very ugly"...
And those students who have read Lu Xun's "Hometown" know a very vivid metaphor: "She stood there with her hands on her hips, like a compass with slender feet!"
So you see, you don't read enough extracurricular books, and you can't even describe the most basic act of "standing" in life. How can you write well in composition?
09. The future
Students always ask:
"Since you may not be able to find a job if you go to college, why do you have to go to college? How good would it be to enter the society as soon as possible?"
That's right, even if you go to college, you won't be able to find a job, and many college students are better off than migrant workers who move bricks after graduation. What does this show? Is university useless?
wrong! This can only mean that you didn't study hard in high school, and you got into an unqualified university! And then the university didn't study hard, and spent all day messing around!
No matter how good a university is, if you don’t study hard, you will become scum; no matter how bad a university is, you can find a decent job if you work hard.
Don't complain that your parents are not powerful, and don't complain that the society is too dark, it's just that you don't work hard!
10. Competition
Although I managed to get admitted to Tsinghua University, I found out after I registered for the university that I was almost at the bottom of the class.
The boy with the best grades in the class wakes up early every day and recites English.
After spending a long time with this group of great people around me, I realized that the most frightening thing is not that your competitors are smarter than you, but that they are both smarter and harder than you!
So, what capital do we have without working hard?
